The Shire of Koorda plans to undertake a corella cull on Thursday and Friday (May 9 and 10).
It is proposed that the cull will commence at the recreation ground around daybreak on both mornings.
Residents should therefore not be alarmed if they hear gunfire at that time.
The officer in charge of the Koorda Police Station has been involved in discussions on the cull and advised of the proposed location.
The Shire is permitted to undertake the cull as the cockatoos are legislated as managed fauna in Koorda.
The intention of the cull earlier in the morning is to attempt to change the behavioural patterns of the corellas so to deter them arriving in town each morning.
